My name is Rishi and welktober is my newsletter. I made up the name because I like mashing words together. It’s a combination of welcome, which is always a nice sentiment, and October, which is my favourite month of the year.
I also considered calling it boycano but I don’t like boys that much, or volcanoes.
Why should you subscribe? To make my analytics dashboard go 📈. The sustained feeding of my ego will cause me to resent myself, digital culture, and perhaps even you—all of which helps me burrow deeper into writing.

Rishi Midha is a writer based out of Toronto, Canada. He mostly writes short fiction, and has published several award-winning pieces in literary journals. Presently, he is working on his debut story collection, to be published in 2026.
