Personal + digestible dispatches on art.

welktober is a weekly newsletter bridging the gap between contemporary art and ~outsiders~. Each letter documents my meandering relationship with art through the lens of storytelling, cultural happenings, texts I love, and various personal baggage.

Beneath its inaccessible veneer, the art is yapping. Writing is my process of listening and yapping back to figure out why I connect with it. By following along, perhaps you’ll expand your own conversation with art.

If nothing else, you’ll discover some incredible contemporary artists and exhibitions to attend.

the top excerpt is a real exhibition text from a respected gallery. It even had the audacity to include the words “authentic dialogue” in that word vomit

But who is he,,,

Rishi Midha is a writer based out of Toronto, Canada. His primary focus is short fiction, for which he has published several pieces in literary journals. Presently, he is working on a story collection, to be published in early 2026.

Rishi does not have a formal background in the arts or criticism. He approaches art as a storyteller and a person.
